We are due to change cars in two years time, with option of a two year extension, and i hope in this time V2G/V2H capability will be available. This will give the use of the car battery to run your home.
V2G will fall under 2021 on legislation for smart charge points/cables fitted. These Regulations do not apply to the sale of a charge point before 30th June 2022., public and rapid charge points.
The biggest factors involved in using V2H are the size of the vehicles’s battery and whether it’s set up for bidirectional charging. I.E if an EV is capable of boiling a domestic kettle as many are it, would be capable of powering your home in a powercut.
