@kezo thanks for that and you are right 40 miles is 40miles which is not easy in January because usually suns not out, too low and the days are short.
In the summer I am hoping that 60/70% of my charging will be through solar.
I agree the future of Ev tariffs could be quite limited.
On the reliability of EVs I can only talk about my BMW I3s which is 3 yrs old and 60000 miles (90% of which have been less than 150 miles ie within vehicle range). It’s been faultless…….apart from big desire to consume tyres (both punctures and wearing them out). I would suggest that 60000 miles in 3 years is well above average miles.
Home battery is a recent addition and I am really pleased with it, charging it up cheaply overnight, running the house with it through the day with just a slight top up from the solar or grid.
