I, indeed, have just left the scheme early (~10 months early).
Motability were brilliant throughout the whole process and the advisor I spoke to when I rang to ask permission to cancel, was very understanding and we had a pleasant discussion.
I’ll admit that the process was not nice , as under better circumstances, I’d rather have stayed, but needs must.
It’s certainly a difficult decision to make and I don’t envy any of us in that position.
For me, I will miss the peace of mind but I have done everything to minimise risk (Breakdown cover/specialist service, etc) and the diversion of money into my own car, I hope, will help in the coming years.
