Hi Kezo. Yes you are right – it’s a big car for a 1.2 engine which is why I had originally ordered the 1.6. We need space for two folding wheelchairs and room for shopping. Having shopped around at the time it was the best of what was available. I needed the massaging seats due to lower back pain. We have always had a diesel for the past 15 years but due to multiple very short trips around town mainly, wanted to avoid the diesel due to DPF issues. Our current Tiguan R-line 2.0 tdi has been fab, but due to these constant stop start short journeys, I find the DPF pretty much stays in regen leading to poor mileage of around 20mpg. A petrol would warm up quicker too and probably return a little better as a result and reach a comfortable temp sooner.
from all the reviews that I’ve seen on YouTube and read on the net, it seems the 1.2 has pretty good torque down at the low end, and hence would suit town driving. I don’t drive with a heavy foot and normally cruise around 60mph on the long runs. So hoping that the Peugeot suits our needs better due to the limited boot space in our current Tiggy.
