EVs could have been and still will be the future.
These current gens are far from the answer though.
Capacity, range, materials, material costs, environmental impact of manufacture.
Cost of purchase
Then throw in yet more expected energy price increases and EV VED and you aren’t even saving much over ICE.
Nor is the environment.
I believe a recent study moved the environmental impact of an EV to not become better than an ICE until year 6. This was based on averages some companies who have a net zero production plant it might be 4 years others 7 etc
It’s all been done back to front tbh, a rushed initiative with no foreplanning of infrastructure or ramifications or even if it is genuinely more environmentally friendly
