What will be interesting is how the Government recoups the fuel duty it’s going to miss out on. Motoring is certainly going to get a lot more expensive in the future.

VED has already been announced to increase for EVs, it’s a fact of life that it would happen sooner or later, it’s just that Tory incompetence has brought it forward by a year or 5.
Knowing how much is used to charge the car does open up the door to multiple charge prices adding both tax and duty to that used for transport and would be easier to use than trying to invent then initiate some form of charge per mile system. However, at what point does charging through the 3 pin plug just because you’ve the time become tax avoidance?
