I don’t think there’s any answer to that. Provision of charging is unlikely to ever meet the needs of motoring as we see it today. Some thing will have to give, and I think the banning of new ICE car sales in 2030 or 2035 (whichever it is) will need to be abandoned. Of course a future Government could stop worshipping the WEF and UN and try to meet the needs of the electorate instead but that’s unlikely….

    ICE 2030, Hybrid’s 2035

Provision of charging isn’t going to meet the needs outside london any time soon, and there’s the the point you made “Provision of charging is unlikely to ever meet the needs of motoring as we see it today”I also think politicians of little England/UK is hell bent on the idea, to a point of no turning back,. Its not as if we are going to solve whater crisis they want to call it  or is just the fact planet earth is just evolving as it has over many years.

Come 2029 there will be as many ICE sales sold as there is now, regardless of the looming 2030 ban on new sales. These vehicles will be on our roads in 2050 and Hybrids for some time afterwards, regardless what people think.  I believe this is what the government is banking on and as such there is no imediate need for a rapid roll out of charge points.

There are some on the mobility scheme dipping their toes in EV world and I don’t blame them. Some have a better experience than others. Then there are some who want to preach the idea, which I dislike. I often say to myself if there was no such scheme, what would they be driving!
