The evolution into net zero has a long way to go. The official line from the government is that hybrid vehicles that can travel considerable distance under EV power alone will be sold past the deadline.
Will the Honda and Nissan system be allowed, where the petrol engine acts as a generator for the vehicle to be driven under EV power nearly constantly? One presumes these vehicles will be available past the deadline.
Motability are not pushing customers into EV’s and PHEV’s and customers will continue to be mobile past the deadline.
There really is a long way to go and no need to panic at this point.
