Valid comments Glos Guy EVs are definitely not for touring at least i don’t think so. They are in their element if like me you cover just 6k in 3 years and you can have a charger fitted. I really don’t think the battery tech will ever get to 600 mile ranges, not in my lifetime anyway and certainly not affordable to anyone but the rich. I love one pedal driving and the instant acceleration is like a drug, very addictive but i have to admit if you do regular long journeys then a good old fashioned ICE is the way to go.

Interesting. I feel more optimistic that they will get the range issues sorted. Frankly, they will have to. Your mileage is only about one-fifth of the average, and millions of people don’t have a charging at home solution. Things like lamp post charging are interesting, but unless there are as many lamp posts as there are cars parked in the road then that’s going to be a bun fight and source of much aggravation! The charging structure will obviously increase massively, but battery range that at least matches ICE cars has to be the long term solution. In many years to come, when we are all forced to have EV’s, I would hope that technology might have advanced to provide battery ranges that exceed the best of todays ICE cars. With the way that technology advances, I think that could well happen.
