EV’s are great if you can home charge, if you can’t, they are just a pipe dream or very inconvenient.
Indeed, but the truth is they want to discourage private car ownership of any kind and it will be those who can afford to or have the ability to charge at home, that will say ev’s are better.
Will that be the same case when they cost alot more to run than they do currently as alot of money is raised from cars and the burden will transfer over to ev’s soon. I highly doubt it. Unless your company pays for it or you/ they get some tax break to do so.
Many don’t have the ability, So it leaves one option and that’s also at a much higher cost right now.
Just under a 1/4 of the chargers needed by 2030 are being installed. Most are in the SE and big cities. Outside that you got to rely on one’s pretty much in car parks, where there is a time limit on parking that also includes the charging bays and so it’s not as if you can go home and come back with mobility / health issues and will have to sit there everytime, you need a charge. Very inconvenient over Ice. Until it improves alot more there is no way many will make the switch, especially us with different needs to most.
