If it adds to the conversation I’ve had the same experience with a Toyota dealer (2020) and a Lexus dealer (2022). BMW (2010/2012) were always happy to let me loose with the options list, as were Volkswagen (2015).
Most odd if you ask me. Something about vehicle codes or somesuch excuse.
