What about this ending in 4 days on eBay brand new sealed in box iPhone 8 in space grey but seller unsure once opened if Apple warranty still applies ? Standing at £122 could go to £150 ??

If you buy any product brand new regardless of age it should have a basic manufacturers warranty. My problem with flebay is there are lots of dishonest sellers or rewrap phones and don’t say (is it refurb rewraped) etc. The fact the seller is unsure if if Apple warranty still applies once opened would set alarm bells ringing for me. Of course he could be telling the truth. The other concern is at what state the battery is in, manufacturers keep them at an optimal charge, but that desn’t mean its left in this state after 5yrs.

Back to ebay, I buy alot of the likes fof them and China.com. I would prefer to buy from a seller who is honest from the off “the phone is new Ex display that has been re-wrapped and has all or the remainder of manufacturers warranty plus 12 months warranty with us”

Finally if your having a new phone why not ugrade to a later IOS if only for security reasons.

Part of me wants to tell you get an Android, if your only using a phone for calls and the odd photo you can pick up a brand new budget-midrange Redmi note 11 128gb (£199) or redmi note 10 222 64gb (£160) Oppo A77 5G (£199) from Argos with manufacturers warranty. It depends what you want for a phone really. I will get my ass kicked for saying this by ardent Apple users, but, apart from me needing an Android my phone will kick ass on the latest I phone and the thick frame borders you get on the budget SE Apple device are long gone on Andooid budget to mid range phones 🙂
