My dealer is closed until Tuesday but I feel a visit is on the cards.
If it “helps”, waiting times have not come down significantly with VW yet. My guess would be at least 8-10 months.
What you could do on the other hand, is ask your dealership if they have a cancellation/stock car that you could switch to, your order will stay either way (even if you cancel, they’ll keep that order for an “in-stock car”).
Personally.. I’d prefer the Elegance over the R-Line as well, and £700 is a lot of money. On the other hand, i’m an impatient man and we’re currently in a car that’s not suitable to our (deteriorating) needs anymore, so i suppose i would stick with the R-Line. If on the other hand you’d be okay with waiting (due to having a suitable car currently), the Elegance is the better Tiguan and saves you £700 on top.
In regards to the towing, yeah, the new Tiguan 2.0 Diesel AWD is probably the best bet on the scheme currently if you take AP into consideration.
