I’m pleased to hear that common sense has prevailed when there has been a bereavement, but I don’t think it’s an option otherwise. With the current ridiculous lead time issues it would be a godsend for Motability customers to be able to choose from a list of cars that have been returned early. Both companies that I worked for did exactly this with company cars. When it was your time to order you could choose a brand new car or pick up a returned one. If your new car was delayed, you could have a returned one in the interim. However, as we know with Motability, their profits come before what is right for the customer, and they make a lot of money out of each new lease, so I don’t see this happening. The last few years would have been the perfect time to do it and yet they haven’t offered it as an option.
