We’ve got a Norwegian spruce from a local farm. It’s a good size but not as large as the nine foot monster we got last year from the same farm. We have high ceilings which were just high enough until the tree was wrestled into its stand and water container, so some of the top had to be removed. Then when the net came off, it sprang out into the room by a few feet like a live thing!
It reminded me of the film ‘Christmas Vacation!’ We’ve learned our lesson this year and the seven foot tree looks lovely dressed in white and gold. It’s also provided storage space underneath for extra baskets of logs for the fire which adds to the cosiness.
