I highly recommend pre-conditioning. I don’t know how much battery it takes, but I am prefer to take it from the car battery rather than our mains electric, as the battery is charged at cheap rates. I did a trip to London a couple of weeks back when we had cold temperatures, albeit a little higher than now, and from memory covered around 280 miles with 7 miles remaining (in reality about 47, as I had added 40 miles during a fast charge). I suspect that figure would be nearer 250 in current weather, but, nevertheless, fast driving on motorways in freezing conditions is way better than I expected. Familiarity with the operation of fast chargers, and their locations will go a long way to ease any range anxiety, although I have to admit, this has not been an issue for me.
