The shame at the moment is that many of the cars on the scheme are lower specification models that lack not only things to make our life easier but keep us and other people safe.
The number of times I have been reversing out of a spot and another driver has WALKED behind the vehicle in a blind spot. Why other drivers switch off and change attitude when they get out of the car, has always amazed me.
The same for the emergency braking assist and collision avoidance systems, SOS alerts, driver attention, lane control etc. All very essential features on todays busy roads.
