Not had to use a public charger yet and am very apprehensive about doing so as it seems somewhat complicated with so many different providers. I would really appreciate any guidance that anyone can give me as I do several longish trips a year and would definitely need to recharge.

Plan every long journey before hand  and have different charging areas in mind before you set off. Dont expect to drive into a service area and find a free charger, or one that works. You learn as you go along. I stopped at an Instavolt charger at the weekend. There were 4 chargers, 3 shown working one faulty. Only 2 actually worked and although they show 125kwh speed, they only put out 44kwh each. Aparently, the machines share the same power supply, so will never produce 125 kwh.

I use the smart cruise control more or less all the time.
