I use to pass my time, especially the run up to christmas building and programming hyper cubes, aura lamps and other arduino based stuff but, it has become harder due to my condition.
I have hue lights and bulbs all over the house, for Halloween my wife always asks me to make the lights flicker and dance and I install movement detectors to set off different things including USB speakers to scream and play spooky sounds. Nothing more satisfying than seeing kids running back down the drive.
Quick google, and I have gone right down the rabbit hole. I am guessing hyper cubes are also called infinity boxes as there are also 3d led cubes. Although I would love a go, I’m not too sure how I would go about making one, the acrylic sheets are so expensive and difficult to cut without a machine and programming is a bit beyond me these days. 3d led cubes however, I have not tried to do one of these yet but looks like the right amount of fiddly, just got to make sure my hands are supported.
