Fords electric cars for Europe will be rebadged VW’s, built on the same assembly lines as VW product. The first sign of this tie-up was the new Ford Connect, which is a VW Caddy. That will continue, at least for the next generation anyway. After that, who knows, it depends on what they decide to do in Europe and, more importantly in China.
I read this morning that BMW’s electric Mini’s will move production from Oxford to China, leaving Oxford with ICE cars. I expect that will continue to 2030 then be quietly closed or whittled down to the niche models like the convertible.
