I was talking to a Vauxhall car salesman on Saturday, and he told me that they now have to give a generic “wait expectation” warning to all new customers of between six and twelve months. He said that they are no longer given specific build info as cars tend to be built in batches when chips, semi conductors etc are available.
Individual delivery dates are becoming a thing of the past due to part shortages. They can go from “no idea when” to having a number of vehicles suddenly becoming available at the same time.
I know that the above conversation doesn’t help your situation, but it may go someway to explain the fog in which dealerships are currently having to operate.
