    Thanks for the replies. I do understand the car insurance situation having worked in the industry for nearly 30 years. I’m just concerned by the lack of clarity from MB on the phone today and the link from ‘My Account’ to the insurance site does not work. I’ll give RSA a call tomorrow.

    The Sat Nav lack of live traffic is an issue for me. It cost me an hour this morning! Probably is petty but don’t really want to pay £85 for a year if, potentially, my new car could arrive next week. Feels wrong that I’m paying the same amount monthly for an inferior/ older product.

    Perhaps  they’ll continue to remove optional extras as the car gets older: sun roof at 4 years and steering wheel at 5………
