I think @wmcforum would be in the minority of people who don’t want Scheme users benefiting over non scheme users.
I think @wmcforum is being intelligent here, very clearly he hasn’t forgotten what happens if the public even just assumes that scheme users benefit/have an advantage over non-scheme users.
The last time that happened, the scheme got gutted to a shadow of its former self. Like it or not, the scheme very much has to keep it “fair”, otherwise the yellow press, and with that, politicians, will get on the case to score some cheap points.
That’s assuming that Motability should sell the car below market rate in the first place, which i don’t find reasonable at all. If you want to buy the car, cool, absolutely. Pay what everyone else would pay. Buying it just for the purpose of selling it, taking advantage of the scheme? Nah. If you want to play car dealer, do it as anyone else does.
Don’t get me wrong. I certainly do think that a scheme user should be able to buy the car at an improved rate – but not to just flog it off.
