I think it’s more a question of whether Izuzu themselves would want to participate in the scheme. They are largely a supplier of commercial vehicles, predominantly trucks, and this is where their expertise lies. Also, they have a relatively small UK dealer network and are likely to see little financial benefit from joining the Motability scheme with it’s associated administration costs and the low margins achieved from leasing a few extra pick-up trucks.
Personally, I’d love to see more vehicles of all shapes and sizes on the scheme so that any individual needs can be met, but I think it’s unlikely in the current economic climate.
