My car was keyed (or knifed) right across the bonnet from one side to the other, when I first got it. It was parked in a disabled space in Sainsbury’s car park, so obviously a Daily Mail reader considered it his duty! I contacted RSA and was asked a few questions. As it had not gone down to the bare metal they said (and sent a letter to confirm) it would be covered under the acceptable wear and tear. When it came to hand it back, I got my full GCB. Which with my NCB almost paid the AP on my new car.
