An absolutely pointless petition. Where would the money come from? Retirement ages are rising because people live and work longer. Old age pensions are paid for mostly out of taxes on the income people earn from working. If people are given a pension at 60 and cease work and pay tax, how’s that going to work? Print more money?
There is no guarantee how long people will live, also I’m guessing people are working longer because they can’t afford not to. You still pay tax after you have retired, any money over your personal tax allowance recieved from private and or state pensions is subject to tax, a pensioner who only receives the proposed new state pension will pay tax.
I don’t think there will be any need to print more money, just stop unemployment benefit for people under 60 who won’t work, that will provide money that will perhaps cover the cost. The current unemployed will be able to fill the vacancies left by the over 60’s, it’s a win win.
