Yeah, the Elegance/Style is the much better deal, objectively. Subjectively, like most people, i like the looks of R-Lines better (all models) – but the superficial looks are pretty expensive, compared to what you get with cheaper models (Style/Elegance).
IIRC, the Tiguan Elegance had electric tailgate, IQ Lights and a few other things over the R-Line (or something in that region – big toys) – for less AP.
Given the option, i’d take Style/Elegance over R-Line any day. Of course if the gearbox is a consideration that choice might not exist – but assuming that it does, it’s just better. Rides better, way better equipped, just better value (and usually cheaper too). The R-Lines do look good (particularly the Tiguan in white/oryx white), but yeah.. We had the choice of a Style, R-Line or GTE for the Golf, so we got the best of both worlds. Otherwise we’d have gone with a Style, too.
