Thank you guys for your best wishes for MIL and to @BigDave for that info regarding hospital social worker.
Mom has a lifetime DLA award so has not had to go over to PIP and this is her 4th car under the scheme.
I imagine we will be contacting the various parties to inform on Mom’s situation in the coming days and whilst the financial loss of any benefits other than her pension which I understand will continue is not of concern, the main problem will be the car.
If we loose it due to her (we hope) temp hospitalisation/rehab means we will not be able to visit and provide support on a daily basis and my wife is her main carer (unpaid). We just don’t want to have the hassle of racing around to find a replacement vehicle while all this is going on.
If all else fails we will have to see if we can buy her MB car and just hope we don’t get held to ransom by MB in purchasing it. That at least would be preferable to spending days and weeks finding a car that will be suitable for her use once she is back home.
