Thoughts on Kona Ultimate so far.
Comfortable and very easy to drive, a good commanding view and I quickly became confident with width and road positioning.
Easier than the Prius for me to get in and out – I rest my elbow on the roof and lower myself in as opposed to the Fosbury Flop.
My car before the Prius was a Volvo XC60, which I found too high – I struggled to lift my leading leg in.
I have paired phone, enabled CarPlay and Bluelink and set up my personal driver profile.
The tech can be a little daunting – there are many choices, so a little homework is required – however once you understand the choices and have set them to your requirements – then apart from fine tuning it is pretty much done.
I have yet to go on a long road trip where I will exhaust the available miles and hence be in an economy and preserving battery mind set.
Example of my set up choices so far in no particular order:-
I have left it in comfort mode with the air conditioning on, but the fan set low – also the cool seats on. – getting 4.4 to 4.6 – the cool seats really work well!
I haven’t experimented with the recuperation paddles yet – but I have selected smart recuperation, which seems to work well, but I need to have more miles on the clock before coming to a conclusion – my wife would not use the paddles – but would be happy with the car doing it for her.
I have the lights on auto plus automatic dipping – wipers on auto too – including back wiper working when front wipers are in use and car is put in reverse.
You have the ability to adjust the volume of bongs and alarms – music and sat nav instructions independently.
The audio is good and works for me – I listen to a lot of music from rock jazz and classical.
I have still to conclude on parking reversing etc.
These are my initial thoughts and observation – things like economy mode – back seat comfort for passengers when my seat is far back and boot capacity yet to come – charging and blue link will also be assessed.
I hope this is helpful to some of you – enjoy your cars ???
