No need for tolls or pay per mile, we have a system , already in place, that puts vehicles into categories based on their emissions and fuel types, Road tax. The system is paid yearly, six monthly and monthly. The annual tax would go up significantly to cover the shortfall, and drivers could continue to pay as before. Disabled would hopefully remain exempt or receive a large annual discount, as we already pay tax on duty.
