We had a grant once around 1995, the car they recommended was very difficult to drive as it didn’t have power starting and my partner uses a steering ball. It went back after six months and we got a grant for the car we originally asked for.
Let’s not forget it’s your money they are giving you back. Minus the millions they are giving to good causes. We should rename it the Motability Lotto!
I’ve always said they justify high AP’s by saying you can always apply for a grant if you can’t afford it. This is the Motability stock (get out of jail free) answer to criticism of AP’s. We’re not entitled to a grant and will probably be coming of the scheme when current contract is up.
