I was excited by your recounting of the Spitfire overhead Tharg. The sound and feel of that Merlin engine going around and through you must have been so evocative of those days of bravery and sacrifice.
On a less inspirational note, thoughts of it made me turn up the bass on my car hi fi when I went for a drive earlier.
Ps: I didn’t get to try the Lanson Champagne last night, as the hot tub guys and gals pinched it and drank the lot, lol …. but I did get a ticket to Hamilton (the musical) for the 24th September at the Victoria Palace Theatre in the West End. After singing “In the room where it happened” and “I won’t give away my shot”, four of us decided to book online for the show. The only tickets we could get with a great view were VIP tickets right in the centre of the stalls, fifth row from the stage …. It should be a great evening. A weekend stay in London is something I haven’t experienced in a long time.
