I have just been on a test drive with a friend. The car in question was a 64kwh Kona Ultimate in phantom black. I was seriously impressed. I drove it to begin with as my friend is a nervous driver initially. She took over, after I had driven and talked her through things for twenty minutes approx. We then spent another 40 minutes driving round the Malvern Hills and country lanes as well as ‘A’ road and dual carriageway. It was just the two of us in the vehicle (no Motability rep). The outcome was hugely positive and she placed her order for an identical black Kona in the top spec. Delivery was advised to be late December. If it’s later it’s no problem as she currently has a low mileage Mini Countryman Cooper S which she loves, and will have had for five years at the beginning of September. An extension until delivery date will suit her nicely ?
I have almost forgotten what the car was like to drive. It is a seriously good car which was way ahead of the competition when launched. Like the Tucson I have, it does everything well, the major difference being the fuel economy. The Tuscon is amongst the worst in class, the Kona amongst the best.
