There might be laws against it and indeed there are but like GG said the police would not be interested in the slightest.

Grandson had one of those push bikes they leave on the side of the road to hire, Boris bikes I think they call them, that some vandal or brainless cretin pushed one from the top of our street where it freewheeled for a 150 yards before smacking into the side of his car causing £300 of damage.

Police response was “do you have a video” and as it happens the camera on the side of the house picked up the crashing bike but the idiots were up the road and long gone before the bike hit his car so no actual persons so police response was no video, nothing we can do, do you want a crime number.

If your in a part of the country where the police give a damn your lucky but around here you’d be hard pressed to get a response to anything other than murder. That said they responded to two blokes being attack by vicious dogs this weekend with the a helicopter and armed police so must be elections coming up.

For a case that get as far as court there are no doubts thousands that don’t and most folk these days don’t even bother to report it because they know nothing will be done about it.

Last week the Sister in Law had her catalytic converter stolen from her car and wasn’t going to report it but I convinced her she should if only to make it look bad on crime numbers in the area that hopefully would make some bone idol politician do something but we live in hope. Oh and police response, “do you want a crime number.

“They have to investigate”, what a laugh.
