One thing that has become apparent to me is this.
Ever since the start of the semi-conductor circuit crisis, dealer customers ervice/loyalty/professionalism when it comes to Motability has gone right out the window.
Pre 2020, as a Motability customer if I enquired about a car or car service or anything car related at the dealership, I got the same good customer service and treatment as a private purchase customer.
However, this is no longer the case with most dealerships. Now, it’s all about profit, profit and more profit.
Prior to ordering my GTD in April 2021, I had to call 5x times at 3x different VW dealers about just to get a Motability salesperson to speak to me.
I remember when I ordered my Leon in July 2017, all it took one was call, one visit to the branch and car delivered within 2.5 month and I was given updated every two weeks on the progress of the order etc.
I am in no way blaming the staff at the dealerships, because at the end of the day they’re only following orders from profit hungry Area Managers etc.
And the sad thing is, we can moan and complain all we want and say that we’ll never go back to the same dealer ever again blah blah…But, let’s face it.
When the time comes to renew, we’ll be going back to the same places, but we’ll be hoping to God that things have improved and won’t get treated the same way as we are right now.
And you know what…This really annoys me!! Cos, I know Motability has the influence to change things and ensure that Dealerships do not subject us to this shoddy service we’ve been getting. They really could if they wanted to.
Yet, they would rather carry on as normal, get all the profits they can at the moment and milk it for all they can.
