hi Brent and all
i ordered my ultimate, misty jungle and light grey interior end of October – officially the Motability 3mths started beginning of December.
I was told March delivery – I had already started research on forums etc in September so took the date with a large pinch of salt.
my conclusion is dealers can only go on the information they are given – yes you can improve your odds of faster delivery by backing the right manufacture and model choice – but a large percentage of outcome is luck.
I originally was going to go for ID3 – ordered early October – never heard from dealer again – I tried to contact them several times – he obviously new model was about to come off scheme due to long delivery delays – so yes – there are rouge uncaring dealers out there – but my experience (this will be my 6th car on scheme) is that most are fair and reasonable, else they wouldn’t usually have agreed to be Motability rep for garage.
This is the first time I have experienced a delay – in the past they have always delivered on time.
There are many people on the scheme experiencing very long delays due to chip shortage and supply chain issues – just stay philosophical- else you loose twice.
I have resigned myself to it being at least June or even July – ie at least 8mths.
Motability have told me – if I want I can cancel and order something else – I see little point in cancelling and joining another queue – besides the Kona is the car I want.
So I am just going to try and stay patient, not give my dealer a hard time and think of my blood pressure ??
