I’m at the other end of the spectrum. I’ve visited 5 dealerships over the last week (Vauxhall, Ford, Peugeot, Citroen and Kia) with only 1 being an actual appointment, and 4 out of 5 have been brilliant and were very accomodating. I made sure the first thing I say to anyone is that I’m a Motability customer and they get the appropriate person to come over.
Ironically it was the Vauxhall dealership that I had an appointment to test drive the Mokka-e with that was the worst. My nearest Vauxhall place closed so I had to do an 80 mile round trip to get to a dealership with a Mokka-e available and when I arrived, I was told that the guy I had the appointment with was off sick and that there was no one else that could help (despite there being at least 5 salesmen sat around laughing and joking) and that I’d have to reschedule.
I’m not annoyed that the person was off sick, things like that happen, but what is not acceptable is not going through the persons appointments and telling customers that he is off and that the test drive would need to be rearranged. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to bother with the Vauxhall Mokka-e now based on how that dealership treated me.
Seeing as I had free time and had made the trip I went to Ford, Citroen and Peugeot and they were all brilliant, I took the Peugeot e-2008 on a short test drive and I’m in contact with the Citroen dealership about a test drive in the e-C4 when they get one in soon. I wasn’t really interested in any Fords as I’m almost sold on getting an EV but as I drove past, a bright blue Puma caught my eye and I had to go and investigate it. The kids really liked it and if it was electric I think it would be my first choice!
