I prefer the German approach of just being able to add the options that you want. One of my daughters has a Hyundai and we’ve been looking at changing it. She wants a heated steering wheel and premium sound system on her next car. They are her only two ‘must haves’. With Hyundai, that means having to get the very top trim level because you can’t add any options. This means paying for tons of features that she will never use. If she got a basic BMW 1 Series she could just add a heated steering wheel and Harman/kardon Surround sound system and she’d have everything she wants.
