I just don’t agree it still stands that Merc/BMW/Audi are superior to humbler marques necessarily, and the cold, hard facts don’t support that tired old cliche- time and time again.
I think superior is the wrong word because they aren’t anymore,they might be little better polished around the edges which I tried to explain in my reply last night. Look a the tech packed into as you put it these humble marques as standard, which many of us would prefer over a little more soft touch materials that often serve no real purpose. Lets face it for the vast majority of us they all get us from A to B in relative comfort and steer around corners.
