Neither can people who have to leave the scheme, especially if they cannot get something suitable for their needs on the scheme or the Ap’s are so high they are unaffordable for most, on a low income.
For me it’s very hard to justify current ap’s for what is essentially renting a car over a fixed term. I’ve never had added extras and the ap has been upto £750 outta my pocket, often less.
Lucky for me, In late june I’ll have a year left on my 3 year lease, when that comes to an end, I may consider buying a 3 year old car and leaving the scheme. I’m not doing the milage i was, or the regular motorway miles. So I’ve not done 9k yet on the current car. I estimate putting around 18k max on it when the 3 years is up. Before that it would of been over 40k.
The scheme has been great, but this had been coming even before all the problems the world has had.. it’s just made it happen faster.
I think a lot more will have to reconsider there options and for some that cannot be a smaller car or boot or for me a car with adaptive cruise control as well.
I had a C4 grand Picasso in 2014 and personally I’d not get another Citroen, Service was poor after gettting the car and last two VW and honda have been great and bits always fell of it, or imploded like the 12v charger port, which took them 2 hrs, while i waited, all to tell me they needed to then order a part.
I told them this weeks before when calling them and booking it in. I get it Mb need to authorise the repair but 2 hours to tell me what i already told them is a joke imo.
Then it was weeks till they could fit it in. After weeks and weeks without any ability to charge anything, bought one of those portable charger banks. So it never got done, as then the 3 years was up and i was so glad to get shot of the car as i also needed an automatic. It was their attitude as well, all was downhill after I got the keys.
