I’m not bashing EV cars here, I have one and its doing a great job – the newer models since 2019-20 are coming on and should be decent secondhand as they have the 200+ mile range to start with.
Its more the dealers and their “lets replace this at your cost and see if it works” brand of trained service technicians, where many of the EV parts/software are £££.
As an example, my car is bonging away demanding a service visit – its been set to 6,200 miles instead of 10,000 because the tech did not know how to change the cars software to miles. That’s the same software used in all of the groups cars, not just the EV’s. I changed it to the correct service interval yesterday, took 2 mins of farting about in the car’s menus.
