Speed limit recognition was pretty good in my BMW but in the Volvo, it’s woeful.
It obviously tries to use both GPS data plus speed sign recognition but it uses neither very well.
According to my car, the speed limit on the A55 is 20mph. It’s actually 70mph on the stretch in question.
It picks up 20mph school signs and then holds on to them for miles.
This is the norm for the car.
The law tells us that ultimately we are liable for the vehicle we are driving and I absolutely agree. However, how many times have you had a sign blocked by a truck or had something going on that needed your attention (car pulling out, kid running out, etc) and you’ve missed a sign.
Would I then trust what the car is saying? Would I heck as like
Big brother is truly watching us now but there’s a problem;
He’s not very bright and he has one eye closed.
? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
