as @Rene said the £250 cancellation fee seems excessive,i too had to change early 6 months early from a 3dr mini to a mini countryman as my back had gotten so bad. they charged me £50 but i got a prorata refund of ap and a prorata gcb. which more than took care of the £50. also the dealer gave me £500 off the ap of the countryman so allin all it was worth it. i would go back to them and question their logic. as you are definately going to wait beyond your normal lease end date anyway.
