Did anyone know that Mercedes use a Renault engine in the 1.3 Turbo which to be fair is a good engine but why as in the older Smart cars they had Mercedes built engines and later a Mitsubishi engine.
I’ll guess it’s got something to do with emissions and cost. Buy an engine that meets current emissions regulations and is good rather than spending millions developing a new one
