I did have a mk7 golf match edition but it didn’t have the independant rear suspension and that’s one thing i have really noticed since i got my honda civic sport, going over speed humps aint so bad now at all.. Plus the cheaper seats that was heated on the golf after 30 mins driving really hurt my back. No such issues with the honda. So if i was to get another golf. i’d change that.. I too have tried suv’s and decided i prefer a car and how it drives..
Personally though I’d test drive both if they come back and sit in the exact seats you will be getting as you cannot always get the exact spec for a test drive..
I am very happy with the civic although it is very low and the ap was pretty high, they bringing the new hybrid out soon, so hopefully that will be on the scheme. Seat was not for me although did consider it but as the dealership is not local, it’s to much hassle when it needs a service or some work doing..
The golf 8 to much is on the infotainment system for my liking. Had that on a c4 and really found it annoying especailly in a morning waiting for it to boot so you can change the heating or when it crashes and you cannot do anything. Guess you could use voice but on my golf that was an extra, Seat you do get more spec wise and my brother had one not the hybrid new ones though but pretty much same chassis. just build quality is not a good on the seat.. deffo more for your buck an if dealer was closer i’d of probally got the seat exellence lux as adaptive cruise control is very imprtant to me also.. guess it really does depend on your requirements.
