Yeah we did ask, and got quoted 6 months.
Ordered 10th of nov last year, and received an email this week with an (unconfirmed) build date for week 23, or beginning of june. Close enough, fingers crossed.
Here’s to hope, i guess.
And yes, the Golf did impress us. There’s a few niggly bits (steering wheel buttons, sigh), but in total we were rather impressed with the amount of “go”, and the fact that everything is smart (predictive cruise control etc). 120mpg for a 80 mile journey with a bit of hooning, and most of our journeys (like more than 95%) are within electric range. Mostly though, we did two test drives with the GTE, and the first one had 13.000 miles on the clock – 5000 more than our current car, and it felt brand new. Nothing rattled, squeaked or anything, no noises whatsoever. Our Ateca sounds like it’s just being held together by bubble gum and duct tape now, with rattles from every direction.
