Hi all, I’ve been taking a first look at Hybrid vehicles. I looked at the Rav 4 Hybrid that’s on the scheme and the salesman was of course very positive about the vehicle. I then went into another Toyota showroom only didn’t say I was Motability. This salesman dismissed the Rav 4 Hybrid and tried to sell me the Rav 4 plug in Hybrid, saying how superior it was. Has anybody got the Hybrid model and give some feedback. It would be really helpful. Regards, Wonky
I did quite a bit of research on these when we were looking to order in the Spring. Although we bought a new RAV4 in 2002, loved it and kept it for 10 years, I wouldn’t touch one now. Hybrid technology aside (which I think is pretty good) it’s a very dated car, long overdue a replacement, and well behind its peers, especially with in car entertainment/ Sat Nav etc which most reviews describe as very poor.
The best PHEV on the scheme was the XC40 but as that’s no longer available I would say that for decent size SUV PHEV’s the better ones are the Ford Kuga (which has the best all electric range in real world driving) and the Peugeot 3008. I should stress that I haven’t driven any of them as we didn’t like them when we viewed them, but my comments are based upon countless reviews that I read and watched whilst researching. Pops (moderator) has a 3008 PHEV and loves it. Not sure if anyone has a Kuga PHEV yet?
