I would love to see land rover on the the scheme, Defender or disco sport.
As you may know, Land Rover was due to join the scheme a few years ago. They had even run online adverts showing the Evoque with the tag “Coming soon on Motability”. Mrs Glos Guy was quite excited! Anyway, it never happened. The arbitrary price caps wouldn’t need to go up much to include the Evoque and Disco Sport and I believe that Land Rover are working on a baby Defender, which is a good idea as the start price of the current one is around £45k and the average price is around £60k.
I would definitely take a look if LR joined the scheme as I love the styling, but having driven quite a few of them I find that they are absolutely peerless off road (where I would never use them) and compromised on road (where I would). Their reliability record is absolutely dire as well, not that I would be overly worried about that with a lease car. Still, in the current climate, wouldn’t it be nice to have the choice? ?
