    Hi Micky

I’ve had more than a few moans about the increase cost of adaptions this year but having a car with adaptions on order I was going over my sums yesterday just to make sure there correct when I hand over the big cheque on delivery day, whenever that may be, and something else slap me in the face in how were being taken for a ride with some of these cost.

Explanation: With a hoist and scooter you have (for those that don’t know) what they call a “spreader bar”. This bar attaches to your scooter so the hoist lanyard can connect to the scooter for lifting into the car.

If you want an extra spreader bar for a second scooter they charge £100.

I do have two scooters and bought a second spreader bar on E-Bay a couple of years ago for £60. Now here I’m not talking about the difference between the £60 and £100 but how this charge came to slap me in the face like a wet Fish.

The cost of the hoist this time around is £590 an increase of over 100% from last hoist and its accrued to me if a spreader bar cost £100 and my scooter having already got a spreader bar I’m being ripped off a £100 and again someone in the chain is making a nice little earner, probably selling spreader bars on E-Bay.?
