Mitch – just a thought, but have you considered contacting Motability and explaining that you just aren’t using the car and would like to return it early? The £5k in benefits that you would save for the remainder of your lease would get you a decent 2nd hand runabout and cover your tax and insurance as well! They always strike me as being very accommodating when peoples circumstances change. I asked about returning our last Motability car early, as we had retired and we’re going down to one car and my private car was much nicer than the Motability one, and they agreed. In the end we didn’t do it, but that’s by the by.
